PROPERTIES:

• in the crystalline state it is hygroscopic (absorbs and maintains atmospheric moisture)

• highly soluble in water

HOME USE:

• relieves muscle and joint pain in the bath

• when added to shampoo or conditioner, it soaks up excess oil in the hair and increases volume

PRODUCTION:

Crystalline magnesium sulfate is obtained by dehydrating the heptahydrate, which is formed by neutralizing sulfuric acid with magnesium carbonate.

ATTRACTIONS:

On a dwarf planet called Ceres, which obrunning between Mars and Jupiter is a crater where there are bright spots. Researchers reported in 2015 that this may be related to the type of salt, particularly a form of brine containing magnesium hexahydrate.
